Kathak is one of the eight major forms of Indian classical dance, deeply embedded in India's rich cultural heritage. Originating from the ancient northern Indian storytellers known as "Kathakars", this captivating dance form narrates tales from Hindu epics and mythology through expressive gestures, rhythmic footwork, and graceful movements. Kathak seamlessly blends storytelling, rhythm, and music, creating a spellbinding visual experience.

Over time, Kathak has evolved into four distinctive styles, or "gharanas", with the most prominent ones flourishing in Jaipur, Banaras, and Lucknow. Today, it is recognized globally as one of India’s most treasured classical art forms, admired for its elegance, complexity, and cultural depth.
